Time is gold especially for working mom liked me. We are both working (husband & I), we leave our two year old daughter under the care of my in laws. We don't have a nanny and we do not intend to get another one after the bad experience we had. My job requires me to be in the office from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday to Fridays. I cannot settle for less, I make sure I'm done with my mommy duties first before going for work. My normal travel time for home to office takes about one to one and a half hours (depending on the traffic situation, knowing E.D.S.A you cannot really rely on your intuition it can get really irritating when you passed through NICHOLS area with heavy traffic for two hours).
Good thing! I found this apps - MMDA for Android (check latest version) which traffic date are downloaded from the MMDA TV5 Metro Manila Traffic Navigator Servers. The apps somehow helped me to decide what means of transportation should I take (by bus or by train).
The apps include a set of menus. It has a system view, map view and line view options (I rely mostly with the line view because it is much easier for me to navigate) where you can see the timely traffic situation on the road and choose the specific area with a color coded indicator from Light - Moderate to Heavy. On the menu are F.A.Q.s about traffic rules, violation and penalties so travelers either with private vehicles or commuters must be aware of. The about page on the other hand has enlisted MMDA directories and other social links where you can get updated and you may also share information and other road related matters.
Here is the screenshot of the Apps for you to get familiar with.
I personally think that this app is a must have for every traveler/ commuter within Metro Manila (North to Southbound). It is easy to navigate and are user-friendly. Information fed through the database gave me a head up (what areas to avoid because heavy traffic brings out the best and worst in you, seriously).
Thank you for reading my post and hope it helps. I'd love to interact with you and hope I can learn something from you too so please do not forget to leave a comment below.
Thank you.
