Today is Throwback Thursday, right?! Perfect time for me to share with you some of my favorite candies while growing up. Here are my top "TEN" favorites in no particular order.
♥ HAW FLAKES - a disc like sweet candy made from fruit - Chinese Hawthorn. We used to play first communion using this candy when we were kids.
♥ BENSON Candy - a chewy chocolate candy from the inside wrapped with oh so sweet caramel in the outside.
♥ BIG BANG - a chocolate bar mix with crispes a perfect for an afternoon snack or while playing TEN TWENTY (lol).
♥ CHOC NUT - The Classic - the small bite rectangular bar candy, a mix of chocolate and peanut that tastes so nutty good. (Kasama sa dalang BAON ko yan!)
♥ FLAT TOPS- The orange wrapper that I will never forget, ever. Aside from the real good taste of this circular made candy of RICOA, this reminded me of my first selling experience ever (lol) I used to sell it to my classmates while the teacher is out. Talk about SALESMANSHIP here!
♥ NOUGAT - the pretty addicting white confectioner candy with bits of nuts from the inside, sticky and tough to chew.
♥ ICE GEMS - Blue, pink, yellow, green, white or purple "harden" icing top. I love the top and occasionally eats the biscuits below. lol
♥ GOYA GOLD COINS - a milk chocolate candy wrapped in gold foil with an embossed of an image (until now I couldn't figure out who it was).
♥ WHITE RABBIT - a chewy white candy wrapped with a chinese wrapper with a logo of a rabbit from the outside. The second wrapper is a thinly wax like paper that is also edible, first time to eat a candy with a wrapper in it. lol
♥ BAZOOKA - remember Bazooka Joe? this pink, quite hard (shaped like - laundry bar soap) bubble gum with the sweetest starch ever, with non stop chewing and patiently waiting for the perfect time to blow and make a bubble from your mouth.
Hmmmm... I wonder if all of these items are still available in the market. I think Haw Flakes is already banned due to unapproved artificial coloring. Oh well those were the days...
