SONG OF THE DAY #08: ALL I ASK

Since the weather is quite inviting to listen to some good music this afternoon. I wanted to hear this song again and so I am sharing it to you too. I believe most of you have heard the song ALL I ASK.

I first heard this song on the radio, probably November(?) last year. When I learned it was Adele singing, I immediately downloaded and played it over and over again. I fell in love with the melody right away and the lyrics are so on point. See how Adele delivered its every words, every lines. There was conviction. You'll feel the sadness and regret. As if  the persons involved are caught up into something so precious but aware of the reality. That there are no possibilities for them to be together. They knew they couldn't ask for more so they cling on to that one moment when they just need to let out what they truly feels. There was truth, there was love, there was forgiveness, and letting go. So I'd keep on listening to it whenever I like, playing it on repeat a hundred times or more.

And then, earlier this year I also saw Bruno Mar's rendition for this song on Youtube. His version of the song, almost made me... I don't know how to explain, it doesn't matter anyways (haha). A little confuse given how a song can be so painfully beautiful at the same time. Bruno's rendition came to be more heartfelt and sentimental. Later on, I've learned that he was one of the composer of the song  together with Adele and some others.

Since it is a ballad, I won't go much on the details. Every stanza pretty much tells you what the song was trying to convey and I am sure most of us has our own story of "ALL I ASK". If you do, sure you can relate. If not, well it still is a beautiful song to listen to.

Anyhow, I really love both Adele and Bruno's rendition, superb voices! superb talent. Definitely a genius!

So here's the two version I grab from youtube and hope you'll like it.

How about you? which one is your favorite?
