DIY PROJECT 101 - LACY SHORTS

OLD JEANS MAKEOVER - LACY SHORTS

Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2014

First day of a long weekend! ☺Cooked Pancit Lomi as day starter and mommy duty after, feeding, playing, bathing and preparing my baby to nap. It was also the same day we were scheduled to pack our things because will be travelling back to my hometown in Laguna to visit my parents (family). In the morning of "Good" Friday we will be going to Splash Island for a short summer adventure.

It was such a busy day for a mom like me (not complaining though, hehehe☺). Any travel (whether short or long) we booked, I am the one in charge in packing the stuffs that we need such as clothes, sanitary items, baby needs, food etc.. etc.. (gadgets and chargers will be my husband's concerns). Good thing I was able to bring Kenzie in snoozeville and I'm done in no time! ☺

I have plenty of time to relax, I thought. I checked out my cabinet and found nothing (not literally, though hehehe), I couldn't decide what to wear. It was freaking' hot that day so i'd like to wear comfy and laid back kind of clothing. Simple Tee Shirt and shorts will do, but found the same old "boring" stuff that didn't match my Summer get-away excitement.

So I decided to grab this old distress jeans of mine and started doing my first published DIY Project ☺Check it out and start sewing...

THINGS TO PREPARE:
♦ Old pair of jeans
♦ Lace trim
♦ Scissors
♦ Needle & Thread

1. Prepare the things you that you need

2. Cut Old Jeans to desired length (mine at 13")

3. Lay down jeans and lace on flat surface and start cutting lace patches (desired length, stroke or design)

Here's mine since I wanted to cover the hole in front

4. Start sewing from the edges (Opt: you may also used glue)

I started sewing from the edges and follow the lace flow
(try to relax you hands & fingers)

5. After sewing it and making sure the laces are well placed, time to trim excess threads

6. Folded the hemline & My new lacy shorts are ☺ done! ♥

You may play with your imagination in doing DIY Projects such as this one and let your creativity flow naturally. Design it according to your taste and preferences. You may also use studs, paints, pearls and other patches of your choice. This is the most tipid materials I have on hand, a quick and easy project to make. Happy Sewing!
