GILIGANS ALABANG

After more than ten days of blogging hiatus, finally got a time to write again and it feels so good. I've been preoccupied with a lot of things lately, mostly about work, family, health and some other concerns about life in general. Good gracious! I am back with my senses and had kept my grip on the wheels.

and speaking of wheels...

See the resemblance? the "HELM" got some of those on OCEAN OF EMERALDS too! Check out what happened when hubby and yours truly embarked THE GILIGAN'S Restaurant for one of our late lunch adventure. Okay it wasn't our first time to visit the place, we came to experience it a couple of times already. We usually go there for dinner or late night snack with friends. The place is a witness for our non stop kulitan and kuwentuhan (even when the band is playing loud music). So why do keep on coming back to GILIGANS... simple... great memories, good music and good tasting food.

But dining during lunch time gives us a totally different feel. Well minus the loud music and huge crowd I was able to appreciate what this restaurant got to offer. When we arrived at the place we thought it was closed because we haven't seen any customer from a far. It was the manager who called our attention and asked us if we wanted to come in and dine (sorry Madam for our ignorance ha ha..) The queuing is manageable that time with few customer occupying mostly the couch area. I had all the opportunities to capture some interesting facts about the store and its interior.

Upon entering the premises you will greeted by the HELM in the center - the focal point and the first nautical item you'd see.

These thick ropes overhead accentuate the lighting on the ceiling. It more of like a star to me ☺...

The Ceiling
Thick Ropes and Lights

The empty seats on the opposite side. At least I had a chance to capture this view.. tables and chair neatly organized.

The contrasting yellow and blue light; makes me feel like I am sailing on the ocean
and the sun rays abundantly on me.
The walls were most likely to have been decorated with lots of ship miniature, framed pictures of the Gilligan ship with trivia and some other antique items (lanterns, ropes and lamps). So yeah, this restaurant didn't fail to lived up on their theme.

Now let's talk about the food! (my favorite part.. of course)..

Live Emoticons here.. lol - while waiting for our orders to be served

We ordered groupies for 4 - F2 which includes Sizzling Pork Sisig and Fried Garlic Chicken (519 Php). Also comes in with rice platter and 4 glasses of cold and refreshing Iced Tea. (We added 30 Php to make it bottomless). To make it more exciting, we didn't passed our chance to order our favorite GILIGANS PICA PICA PLATTER/ appetizer (331 Php). They got a lot of platters and other choices on their menu.

This is what we loved most about Giligans
The set menu (big servings and big savings!)

The Sizzling Pork Sisig is deliciously tasty and the garlic chicken at
the far end is yummy too!

As far as I remember, we didn't hear any music playing that time but I appreciate the food, the store and the staff more likely (the staff knows how to interact and put a little conversation with their customer pala.. lol. (Rare chance because you will see them working busy as a bee during peak nights -  totally understandable).

Ocean of Emeralds feels at home with Giligan's!the wheels of the ship had directed our path to it.  All in all we had a good time dining in and enjoyed our gastronomic lunch at GILIGAN'S RESTAURANT -Festival Mall branch and will definitely visit them again soon.

♥♥♥♥
Carpe Diem
