FOREVER YOUNG AT HEART - VISITING DREAMPLAY AT CITY OF DREAMS MANILA

My birthday this year falls on a weekday, since I have been granted to take a leave from work I made sure to go to interesting places which I haven't been to. Since City of Dreams Manila is new and offers entertaining activities for kids we opted to visit the place for the first time. Check out our two hour adventure and see for yourself what's in store for you, in case you are planning to visit Dreamplay soon.

HOW TO GET THERE

City of Dreams provides free shuttle services in different locations around the metro. See park location and  schedules for more details.

We frequent SM BF ParaƱaque, so we knew about their free shuttle services. The shuttle is parked just in front of the mall while the schedule were posted on the standee. I thought it is but practical to ride and avail their shuttle service since it provides convenience for FREE! The seats are clean, comfortable and best of all has a FREE WIFI connection inside the limo. The driver is courteous and strictly following the required seat rule. Just a reminder, you need to bring your I.D. with you (for identification and security purpose, I guess) so it would be easier for the driver to see and logged your name in their guest list.

TRAVEL TIME

The travel allowance on their website ETD - ETA are set at two hours, But we were lucky to have reached our destination within thirty minutes (including traffic) only. It was definitely a hassle free ride.

UPON ARRIVAL

We were greeted by the staff at the drop off area. At the entrance, the guards informed us on how to get to the DREAMPLAY at the second level. Good thing directories were provided so you won't get lost with such a huge place. The next thing we know we are walking below this amazing pendulum display that kept us entertained the whole time (looking up on the ceiling) until we reached the far end where Dreamplay is located.

You will be greeted by Shrek, Alex along with his friends. (Characters from the movie Madagascar) at the entrance.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Dreamplay is a new interactive play, create and learn entertainment hub for children and young at hearts. It offers an amazing range of interactive, digital and physical play and learn facilities. The location of Dreamplay is far from the casino or any adult restricted play area so parent have nothing to worry about. Specifically it is constructed along the retail avenue that boast a wide range of luxury and high end shops.

THE LONG QUEUE

They say expect the unexpected so you won't get disappointed at the end and the sayings are true. Apparently I have spent thirty minutes in the line just to secure a turn to the cashier area. While waiting for our turn, we were asked to fill up a waiver form (for parental consent). You need to return the filled up waiver to any of the attendants so they can encode the details and save it on their database. While waiting I kept myself busy watching kids making their way to these incredibly gigantic ropes and steel. Only the brave ones can do it.

At the cashier we were asked to give our surname, after they have searched for it they will then be asked what kind of passes we want. We took participating tag for our daughter while non - participating for us parents. We were reminded to check our time wisely since we are allowed to stay inside within two hours only. (They have a whole day pass, so additional rates shall be applied if you wish to extend your time).

Check out our bracelets,  well our, tag I mean. This will serve as our entry pass and a point collector. Remember this area is an interactive play area so expect a high end type of facilities and machine they got inside. All you need to do is to either lay or wave your tag in front of the machine.

Our usual "Let's volt in"gesture before we start our activity inside the Play Area.
The red tag is for the kids while the green tags are for the adults.
Weekday and weekend rates differ as well as whether you will be a participating or non - participating guests. To check the rates, general policies and other pertinent information about Dreamplay just click on the link.

I will share some of what we saw inside the play area but don't worry this won't be a spoiler!

Our first stop: SHREK SWAMP STOP

Getting inside Shrek house is one of a kind experience, this literally brings back a kid inside of me. With so many secret passage and rooms you can't help but to play along with the kids, you have to crawl, jump and hold on to the nets just to get through the next way out. It reminded me of those years when I used to play a doll house however this one is definitely the biggest that I've ever seen.

Our second stop: THE DINOTRUX

This is where your patience and ability to control a reptools (in a form of glowing balls) will be tested. You need to pilot the reptools by the used of the monitor in front of you. I'm not a pilot so it was hard for me to control this lol but it was fun. Sorry but this reminds me about the movie A LAND BEFORE TIME hehehe...

Our Third Stop: SIGHTSEEING, THE HANGING BRIDGE AND THE SLIDES - UPSTAIRS

This is the area where the gigantic slides sits in. If your kids are fond of climbing, crawling and playing maze bring them here and for sure they will love it. The slides are long and swirling but it wasn't scary at all. It is also a perfect place to see the panoramic view of the play area.

This was something we look forward to do  but
it wasn't working during our visit, so I guess we need to go back soon.
This is where your kids can draw and paint without any mess just like a doodle apps on tablets.

At first my daughters loves it here but she eventually throw her tantrums when she heard an air balloon sound. That's when all the crying begin but we were able to calm her down.

The fourth stop: WHATEVER FLOATS YOUR BOAT

This area provides an entertaining experience for kids and adults alike to test their ability to withstand any barriers when someone tries to sink your boat. Strategy and sharpness of mind and hands will be tested here. This reminds me of the paper boat we used to sail in the rain flood when we were younger.

Our fifth stop: HOW TO FLY YOUR DRAGON

We were not lucky to experience this one because it comes again with a long queue (box office) and since our daughter won't appreciate assembling her own dragon yet, we let it pass and we just took a picture of it so others will know it exist. This somehow reminds me of the airplane made of paper that we used to fly when we were younger.

Heading to our next stop: THE DREAM THEATER

This will give you an amazing 4D experience while watching a clip of your favorite Dreamworks Movie. During our visit the movie being shown is ALMOST HOME. With a 4D glasses, bombastic sound effect, a real splashes of water makes you think you are one of the aliens (lol).

HERE ARE SOME OTHER ATTRACTIONS AT THE PLAY AREA THAT WE MISS TO TRY (so make sure you won't miss it too)

We've actually miss a lot like DREAM TALES LIBRARY because the three of us didn't wore a socks so we just took a picture of it from the outside.

The flame looks real because of its 3D Effect

Daddy and daughter bonding ;)

THE DREAMWORKS STUDIO

We miss the second batch schedule at 4:20 PM and we do not have enough time
to finish it according to our time limit.

THE WALL OF DESTINY, THE THREAD OF ENLIGHTENMENT, THE WALL OF DESPAIR & THE KUNG FU PANDA DOJO because we think this will be appreciated more by an older kid and my daughter refuse to dance in the dance floor. (For participating tags only)

THE GINGY KITCHEN

But it's okay, at least we still have a reason to come back soon when my daughter gets older I guess. :) All in all the two hours stay inside the play area was all worth it and fun. So next time you'll visit Dreamplay make sure to check out their policies, applicable rates, so you will get to participate and experience all the attractions. They've got a lot to offer but prepare to sweat a lot too because the activities was all good, exciting and challenging.

Remember make sure to be at the check out gate on time to avoid additional payments. The check out gate can be found at the DREAMSHOP. The shop is more of like an attraction itself because of the cute characters and merchandise display which you can also buy as a souvenir.

My daughter thinks this is still a part of the play area that's why
she opted to sit in there and pose for a picture, lol ;)

It was a day well spent! I got a year older but I felt like being young again at DREAMPLAY.
