My very own wooden easel |
I recently got into painting (acrylic on canvas in particular) and so far I have done ten (10) paintings up to date. Most of the basic materials I have, I bought from National Bookstore. To be honest art materials, well how should I say it... hmmmmm. I can't say it's expensive because if it does then I won't be able to buy one (diba?, hahaha) so I'll put it this way.... "art materials are valuable". There!
But I guess if you really love something you will invest time, effort and yup money especially if you have it as a hobby. But that doesn't mean you have to splurge everything at once. So what I do, I buy and collect each materials one to three pieces at a time. Though it's tempting, I try to control myself and just buy only what I need whenever I have spare cash. Now I have all these basic art materials except for one - an Easel Stand.
I tried to look for an Easel Stand at National Bookstore, but think a 3K worth of stand is not for me. I also tried to look for a cheaper offer at OLX but the cheapest is around 1,500.00 which isn't a good offer (for me) either. I was particularly looking for an easel stand under 800. But since I am having a hard time finding one I stop stressing myself. I go on painting while sitting on the floor, leaning my canvas board on my daughter's cabinet door hehehe...
Sorry for the messy corner we have here ☺ |
I finally got my wooden easel stand for only 760.00 Php may sukli pa ko sa 800.00 na budget ko! hahaha... On the time of our visit the crew told me "all out na po yan mam". Meaning the few pieces on display were their last stocks. Sumakto naman naka abot pa ko. ☺ I went gaga on the moment in fairness hahaha... it was one fabulous find!
