GET A HANG OF IT (SIMPLE ORGANIZING SOLUTION)

Good day! I am stoked coz' tomorrow is a Holiday. We'll I am not going anywhere but it means I will have the time to visit or maybe finished some of my pending works at home. Particularly those that are almost left forgotten. hahahaha... Life's busy and more than not, I spend my "ME" time doing small projects (for improvement, I hope so) at home.

That being said, well what's new? I'm still not done with our bedroom makeover! I don't even know when it's gonna end but keber. I am enjoying the slow phase transformation anyways. (Hehehe!) I honestly do not know when I will be able to finish everything or when will I get satisfied. My husband said he's good with what he's seeing at the moment. Well, I do agreed on that, since it looks better than before. But still thinks there's more we can improve on. (blah blah blah)... going back...

See the picture above? that's the real answer, hahahaha. I was able to do a simple project recently. Do you have any idea what I am going to do with those materials?

Charan! I am creating.....

An atypical hanging organizer. Why do I need to do it?

.... because once and for all I wanted to tackle the overwhelming sight of those "used, but not too dirty jeans" hanging at the back of our door.

I also wanted to see how we can maximize the space and make it more functional. This is the before situation on this side of our bedroom. Wall behind the door going thru the closet.

Yeah, I know. It was one busy (messy) space in there. I am not proud of it, but I had to capture it so I can fully absorb the situation and decide to finally make a solution for it. We suddenly wanted a more functional and clutter free space eh, LOL. (No just kidding). I personally get fed up having this view for so many years now, it's about time to tackle and find solution for it.

MAKING OF THE HANGING ORGANIZER

To make this project you'll need to have the following:

3 Rounded Wood Stakes
2 Hook Screws
2 (8/ea) Yards Strings

HOW TO DO IT? (I promised it would be quick)

1. Get the length of the wood stake. From both ends measure around 3-4 inches allowances each. Make a mark on the wood where you want to place the strings. (See illustration below) Also, add 1/2 inch mark inward, for the hook guide. Bring your marked wood in front of the ceiling where the joist are. Use the hook guide and pencil out the distance in between where both of the hooks will be place at. Get the hook screw and insert it into the ceiling. Make sure the hooks are safely and securely inserted. Durable enough to hold all the weights of the suspended items it will be carrying.
The X marks indicates where you will secure the strings.

2. Get one piece of the 8 yards string (rope). bend it in half, aligning both ends together. It should be equally divided into 4 yards length. Find the center, measure about 3-4 inches downward and create a first knot. Do another knot to make it sturdy as well. Do the same on the other string. The first two loops you've created will be your base which will be directly placed onto the hook screw.

3. Afterwhich, measure another 4-6 inches gap then...

(proceed in making a layer) After the 6 inches gap. Make another knot as top enclosure. Place the wood below it and enclose the wood using the same string by making another knot. Do it and balance it one the other side of the rope.

Create a loop and insert the wood in between. Make a knot enclosure on top and in bottom

4. After, you have securely made the first layer. Measure around 12 inches or more to create another gap in preparation for the second layer. Again make another knot on top, place the wood after the knot and lock it again by doing another knot below.

5. Repeat the procedure, depending on how many layers you wish to create. However, on the last layer make sure to wrap or tie the wood many times. Make a knot enclosure securely.

Should there be an excess strings, it's up to you if you want to cut or not. I let mine as is, just to achieve a more industrial look. I didn't paint the wood if you've notice coz I like having that contrast between the wall, the string the natural element of the wood. It look more like a decor for me.

And so, this was how my project end up with (or without) items hanging in it.

Finally! no more hanging items behind the door. Remember the Progress board? we're able to open up that small space (walk thru) between the sliding cabinet. A simple project and minor rearrangement can really make a lot of difference. Though again we can always do more improvement. See, the white paints are not yet fully finished oh... hahaha... Anyhow, I'm glad of how it turned out. A far cry from that messy situation before.

What do you think about this project?

Oh, by the way this simple hanging organizer cost:

Wood Stakes at 20 Php/ each x 3 (bought from palengke) = 60.00 Php
8/ yards long string at 35 php/each x 2  (also bought from palengke) = 70.00 Php
Hook Screw - leftover from old project. (You can buy it in set/ Hardware) = 00.00 Php

130.00 Php in total. How cool is that!
