MEDLEY BUFFET - OKADA MANILA

I together with my officemates went to OKADA Manila last Monday to try the different food selections they are offering at Medley Buffet Restaurant. We were tasks to do food tasting and decide whether the overall buffet experience were commendable for our company's special dinner treat this coming December (#workrelated). I got to try some and here's my take on it.

Right after office hours, we were scheduled to visit Okada Manila. We arrived earlier than expected so we took time to roam around the resort complex except the Casino part of course (hehehe). The Casino, Lounge, Buffet, Promenade, Shopping Alley are already operating but there were still more establishment under construction. But by the looks of it, you can expect new stores will soon pop up in the coming months or so.

This particular display at the center was indeed grandeur to look at. Sorry, this photo did not gave justice to it, I guess you better visit Okada to see it yourself.

Signs are all over the place, you won't get lost wherever you wish to go to different places inside the complex. A touch screen directory guide are also available for easy search.

I'm not sure what's below this floor though but I am guessing it the passageway going to resort parking spaces.

The walkway to some of high end/ specialty stores. Marc and Spencer, Jo Malone Boutique are some of it.

This photo was taken at the alleyway going to Medley Restaurant right after the Lounge Buffet at front. The intricate wall (yes, wall) design reminds me of The Galaxy Macau and it was so pretty I thought it was one for the gram!

We were able to actually see some more places inside but I wasn't able to take pictures it. Most are still under construction while some places are full packed with guest. Photos are not allowed inside the casino and we have no intention of going inside the casino at all. Hahaha

Now, Medley Buffet opens at 6pm so we proceeded inside the restaurant to take our sumptuous dinner.

They do have a lot of food selection (should it be the case since it's a buffet? hehehe). From Sea Food, Salads, Desserts, Steaks, Korean Food, Chinese Food at so on and so forth. I actually had (7) seven full plates (thank you for asking! hahaha) but still I wasn't able to try I believe (6) six  more stations. I was so full, I couldn't take in any more food to consume. (Partida di pa ko nag-kanin nun!Hahaha)

Here are some of my picks from the buffet.

1st Plate - MAKI

"All the way"... I am a huge fan of Maki (di naman halata ano). They have different Maki presentation and tastes distinctly good. I took these five variations. I love all of it but my favorite would have to be the one in the middle co'z it got a spiciness in it.

2nd Plate - Buttered Garlic Prawns

It was not salty, not even sure if it does have salt (which I believe is a good thing) in it.  But I like it mostly because it was huge and meaty. #GastroAlert

3rd Plate - Tempura, Chicken with Sesame and Crispy Veggies.

I don't know about you, but I really love tempura. And every bite seems like a first time to me. Nope, I am not OA. I've tried tempura from different restaurant and always admire the distinctions of each (taste) but the flavor are ahhhhh... heavenly... (hehehe)

4th Plate - Red Steaks

What can I say, it's a steak and it was definitely delicious. Looking for the picture of my 4th plate? Yup, you got it right! I forgot everything else when I had my first bite, finish it in a minute and whoola I didn't got to take a photo of it. Hahaha...  Sorry! Anyways, I prefer to have a mushroom sauce on top of my steak.

5th Plate - Nachos, Quesadilla & Pizza

Okay, do not judge me. I just love everything in this plate. The nachos tastes well Nachos hahaha, the quesadilla is a bomb! It will be in my priority list in my return. And there is nothing so special about the pizza but still the same it's good to eat.

6th Plate - Fish Tausi, Lechon Kawali (Crispy and Chewy), Dangit, Caramelized Pusit & Dilis. My so called Alat Plate :) hehehe no not really, yung dilis super sarap nyang papakin. I am preparing for my last plate that's why I chose to have all these (no rice pa din).

7th Plate - Okay my last plate for the night, dahil sobrang busog na ako. But of course served the best for last diba, so I got my Dessert plate as my final plate.

Creme Brulee and the Milk Chocolate Candy Pop with gold were heavenly, trust me! I was quite disappointed with the French Macaron, it was hard as a stone hard na! I should have got the merengue from the topiary jar instead. Sayang ganda pa naman ng presentation. So there, good plating or presentation doesn't really mean good food.

It is where I got the french macaron, nanigas na sya hehe... Ganda pa naman tingnan. It's edible , however yung nakuha ko talaga sobrang tigas na, I wonder how long na to naka display hahaha...

These are highly recommended! I will try the white and dark chocolates on my return at Okada. You got to try it.

Here are the other selections they got at the buffet.

Ginger Bread Houses for Christmas. Galing ng pagkakagawa eh. I never had the capacity to pick up anything from this display dahil super full na stomach ko. Masama ang sobra hehehe :)

Anyways, like what I mentioned, there were still lots of selection I have not tried. So I promise myself to prioritize them on my return hehehe...

By the way the regular buffet price at Medley Buffet Okada is  Php 2,700.00 nett including  drinks (one to sawa). We were lucky to get a huge discount on the day of our visit and even more luckier because we didn't shell out even a coin for this it hahaha... #bosstreat #workrelated.

Just so blessed and thankful for the experience as always. Busogluchug na naman ako!

#blessed Wink ; )
