Kamusta sa inyo my lovely readers! Kamusta ang paghahanda para sa nalalapit na Pasko? Hope all is well with you :)
As for me, I've did quite a number of holiday DIY decor over the weekend and I am sharing it to you today. This is actually a continuation of what I have posted Monday last week. Like what I have mentioned last time I am aiming for a total of 21 Holiday related projects but apparently I decided to just add a few more items to specific areas and not overdo things. Anyways, I am already satisfied with the little pop of color we have in the bedroom now. Budget and space wise, I believe these additional decor gave us that Holiday feels we're looking for.
Starting with this corner - Mckenzie's Nook
As you can see, I made only two changes in this corner. First, I changed the throw pillow case to red and cream stripes. Secondly, I create a simple red bow and attached it to the existing vase accent.

No. 5 - Throw Pillow and a Bow
Throwpillow case - 79Php (Landmark - Makati) Red Ribbon (Old item, I bought from SM Home at 129.75) |
Then, I grab this super plain white twigs on the foot of our bed. Added up a small pompoms alternately of each branches. The other half of red ribbon above, I made another bow and tied it here.
No. 6 - Upgrade Boring Twigs
Pompoms, brown branches, pot jar are my old crafting items |
I didn't spend anything for this one (bow ribbon already accounted above - hehe). I just use my old crafting materials and boom! I was able to add a pop of color for the twigs.
No. 7 - DIY Love Wreath
This is one of the cutest and simpliest (with a little effort) DIY I made on these batch. Made out of existing cardboard paper, red pen, gold pen, beads and leftover of pine garland. I simply circle out the garland and twisted both ends together. Write down my preferred wordings and design on a piece of white cardboard which I also cut into circle. Hot glued the sign and wreath together and added up a number of red beads which I already owned. It looks like real cherries right? I so love the outcome! I added this up to the photo gallery we have on top of the headboard.
No. 8 - Window Wreath
Few months ago, I bought this wooden ring from Alabang Palengke. I was planning to use it for some DIY Project but it didn't push through. So finally, I was able to use it to this particular project - A hanging wreath. While the door wreath I made was full of evergreens, I decided to tone down this one for the window. It's so easy to do. The gold snowflakes, jute twine, beads, feather and red ribbon you see are also leftovers materials from my previous projects. I only bought the pine garland for only 39.00 Php. Cut them according to my preferred length and hot glued them to the wooden ring. Use a transparent string to center hang the snowflakes. Tied a red ribbon below and added feathers, flower and leaf accent in front of it.
No. 9 - Pop of Red on Display
I hot glued these two reindeer on each side of the plate. Remember the peace sign, I have them in pair when I bought it. The first one, I use when I did the door wreath. The next pieces goes to this wreath. I have this red and gold bracelet (which I also DIY from years ago) and simply place it on the end letter. E, because that's my nickname hahaha... Since the reindeer are made from clear to frosted like material I decided to tie a ribbon on each neck to make it a little visible.
Are there any plants widely used for Christmas than Poinsettia? Of course, I have to have it even just a single piece of it in the bedroom. Look how it stand's lively onto this corner. Added this cute Santa face on the frame and insert my favorite candle into this red pen organizer which sits on the storage area for many years (hehe).
The little cute craft ornaments (santa faces, red ribbon, balls) were pre made and I bought them from the Landmark Makati ground floor, near the exit door fronting Fairmont to be specific. They come in sets of 2-6 and price ranges from 29 to 89 per set. I just love how this cute little stuffs can bring some festive feels even when they were totally spread out in different spots. It's quirky and fun to look at.
And last night, I found Mckenzie's Dora toy (she's holding a Christmas gift) not being kept properly, I decided to glued it on top of the clock. Imagine Kenzie's reaction when I told her she cannot get Dora until Christmas is over. Pakalat kalat ayun! sinama ko sa display, edi napakinabangan din. Hehehe
Who doesn't like the sound of Jingle Bells?! except for the Grinch I believe ahaha.. I made this one out of my existing jute twine, red bells I bought from Landmark Makati together with the ribbon and santa's faces. Stretch my mind and with little creativity I was able to make this uber simple door hanger. So simple yet so much fun to look at. Even McKenzie couldn't resist to play it every now and then. Yup, kailangan ko pang iremind sa kanya na hindi talaga yun toy pero syempre papayagan ko rin i enjoy ng bata basta ibalik lang.
Last Saturday, we were able to drop to Robinson's department store and found this little Christmas tree priced at 69 Php only. And because we never had any Christmas tree in the house or any decor from years ago, (we celebrate Christmas elsewhere) we felt we needed to finally have one this year. Now that McKenzie pretty much understand and are aware of her surroundings (ehehe). It was her wish to have one, at dahil nga mura ayun binili ko na. Including the bell and Led Christmas lights. I tried to find the smallest ornaments possible dahil 2.5 Feet lang naman yung tree but to no avail. So sabi ko, ano ba? why not make one nalang Diy nga diba! hehehe
So there, the mustache, beads, buttons, crystal were all leftovers from my past projects and good thing I was able to use it this time around. Even the red ribbon on top, the snowflakes and feathers were leftovers from my recent project. I basically hang them and wrap them around the tree. And that completed our Bedroom Christmas Decor for this year!

No. 9 - Pop of Red on Display
As you may notice, I use red, to add a pop of colors on our already existing room decor. It blends well on our blue, white and gold theme bedroom. I chose red because well, it is my favorite color. And well, when I think about Christmas, the first thing that comes on my mind is the color red. It's such a fiery and happy color that it draws your thought towards Christmas.
So what did I actually do on this corner? let me start with this one.
No. 10 - A reindeer on the plate

No. 11 - Poinsettia Plant
It's a faux plant, but I made sure to choose the more naturally looking one. (79.75 Php from Landmark Makati) |
