MAKING THE MOST OUT OF ECQ

Sixty four days on a lockdown. There has been a slight decrease on Confirmed Covid Cases in the past few days (some good news) however the whole NCR are still under the Enhanced Community Quarantine though they added the word Modified to jumpstart the economy, allowing logistics and essential businesses to open. The curve has not flatten yet but people are currently trying to go back to work and out of the streets again. Despite of all the hardships we are experiencing and worries, I am still thankful to be healthy and alive along with my whole family. Safe while choosing to stay at home. No one knows how much longer it'll last but if I can I will choose to stay put until deemed necessary and safe.

So while at home, I believe it's important that we make most of our quarantine life productive. At least it helps us in trying to stay away from all the negative things that is happening around us and prevents us from dwelling also into negative thoughts and feelings. Because Man! this pandemic is a serious matter, we are talking about life and death here. With this, the more reason why we need to take care of ourselves and our love ones. I also believe if armed with proper knowledge about the virus and of the know-how hygienic practices we can fight this together. We might not be in the same boat but we are on the same storm as they say, so better level up and try to protect ourselves the best way we can.

With the lockdown, nature heals itself so are we. I'm sure most of us are working real hard for the past years, sometimes even wandering or wishing to have some real good "PAHINGA". The lockdown gave some of us that unprecedented "PAHINGA" time (nasobrahan na nga para sa iba, sabi nga nila at na bobored na daw sila). So while we can, make most of our quarantine time by being productive and not to slack out or become less active para maiwasan na din ang boredom :) to do that I've listed some of the activities I do while staying at home and to achieve a boredom free quarantine life.

1. PLANTING
No back or front yard? NO WORRIES
Recently I started to learn URBAN Planting :) this somehow revive my gardening skills wayback  elementary days.  Remember the petchay (lettuce), labanos, mustasa at kamatis?!

2. EXERCISE
No more excuses. It is the best time to get up and push ourselves to rebuild and strengthen our immune system. Keeping fit is no longer the goal but rather having a strong immune system.

3. MAKE AN ART WORK
Why not? I'm sure you have that in your system. Time to revisit your creative juices, it's just sleeping (somewhere) there for decades. Come on, use this time to express your creativity. Maybe you are one of those who can create a level ul PPE's, you just didn't know it yet.

4. LEARN HOW TO COOK
Remember your Home Economics lessons but now thanks to Youtube, it's just one click away. Panlasang Pinoy, Yummy PH and a lot more will help you out. Find leftovers from the fridge and create a recipe of your own. Yes, you can do it. Enjoy cooking as well as eating!

5. REOPEN COMMUNICATION LINES WITH FAMILY AND /OR FRIENDS
Be honest, years gone by without us knowing when was the last time we check out how are friends or even families are. We are no longer busy so why not make some effort to check on them again.

6. DO GENERAL CLEANING - yes your broom and cleaning rag misses you, not to mention the space underneath your bed or ceiling on top of your stairs and doors, time to say hi to spidey.

7. ORGANIZE WHAT'S NEEDED TO BE ORGANIZE
How are you bills and other receipts doing? It's interesting to know what was the oldest receipts you can find on your throw it all drawers. Lol

8. PLAY
Make time to play your favorite game, whether online or not, whether gameboard or not. PLAY. Just don't overdo it.

9. DO MENTAL EXERCISES
Feed your minds with anything that will entice your interest and which more likely resulted to added knowledge on your advantage. I miss traveling and going to places but for now I cannot possibly do so. What I usually do, i watch exploration and other interesting documentaries online, history and science are on my list. On some days, I am assisting my daughter when she's doing DepEd Commons online, this way I am also exercising my mental strength.

10. TIME TO PRAY AND READ THE BIBLE
Most important of all. This is the best time for us to rebuild or regain our spiritual relationship with God. Now, we cannot come together in church because of the social distancing protocol, but we can still pray anytime of the day while in the comforts of our homes. There are online/offline bible which we can carry and read as well. Our time to directly talk to God through our prayers and it is through the Bible that God is talking to us. With all the distress nowadays, we are still blessed to be healthy and to live one more day healthier. Just being alive and covid free is already a miracle in times of pandemic.

How about you? What makes you productively happy and mentally/physically healthy while on quarantine? How do you cope with the current situation?

Keep safe always, OK?!
