BUTTERED SHRIMP - SMELL AND TASTES SO GOOD!

If you are a seafood lover like me for sure you have tried the best seller menu in DAMPA (a seafood market & restaurant where your choice of food will be cooked for you) - The Buttered Shrimp!

The last time I tried it was when I joined my previous superiors at DAMPA Libis and that was so long time ago. We have one near our place at DAMPA SUCAT but I couldn't go there alone and my husband was never a big fan of seafood also (allergic in shrimp actually). Other than the usual fried tilapia I decided to cook Buttered Shrimp at home and it was a success! Let me share with you my second easy to do recipe. It is easy to prepare and tastes so good too!

INGREDIENTS

3-4 tbsp. of thinly chopped garlic
1/4 bar of butter
1/4 kilo of shrimp (around 12-16 pcs. approximate)
1 can of lemon soda (sprite)
salt
pepper
thyme

PROCEDURES
 - Wash your Hands.
 - Wash and prepare clean utensils.
 - Wash and prepare clean and fresh ingredients.

A. Marinate Shrimp

1. In a bowl marinate shrimp with lemon soda about 10-12 minutes. Leave a generous amount of lemon soda in can to be used again later.

While waiting:

B. Cooking Procedures:

2. You may start preparing the rest of ingredients. Remove garlic skins and chopped garlic thinly, set aside.

3. In a heated pan pour in the butter and melt it in (again in low fire setting). Then, saute garlic in butter until golden brown. Pour in the marinated shrimp and make sure to cook each side well. (You'll know the shrimp is cooked when it turned bright orange. Check out the pictures below).

About to get cooked ♥

4. Pour in the remaining soda. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle thyme or parsley (I used thyme) to add flavor. Remove from heat.

5. Place in a clean bowl and serve with rice.

Enjoy eating!

Servings: 2-4 persons
