Trick or treat events are almost everywhere since the yearly celebration of Hallow Eve's or All Saint's Day are coming. Decades ago it wasn't really as highly commercialized as it is now and the reason of throwing such event had evolved in many ways. You'll see kids and adults alike are excited to attend one whether it may be held on a house party, at the community clubhouses, offices, malls and even hotels. They all have their own share of Halloween themed party almost, if not every year.
Last year I brought my then 2 year old kid for her first Trick or treat event, This year we got an invitation from MommyBloggersPhilippines but missed it due to prior commitments. We initially thought of skipping such event for this year but when my husband told me that their company is throwing one for their employee's kids last Saturday, we decided to let our girl join in. Good thing it was set on a Saturday which is also our family bonding day so we agreed to come and meet my husband's co worker's and their kids too. I only got three days to prepare for McKenzie's outfit. I've been very busy this month and I usually come home late at night (from our work place) and feels all drained up with the stress causing traffic so I decided to make her "KENZIE THE EXPLORER" for this year's Halloween party.
DORA has become her outfit/ character inspiration. Noting that the outfit are definitely easy to put together, it is also one of the simplest yet cutest outfit ever existed (lol).
OUTFIT
(TOP) pink tee grabbed from her closet, (BOTTOM) orange shorts from Landmark Makati at 85 Php, (SOCKS) yellow socks also from Landmark at 69 Php, (SHOES) white DORA shoes existing from her shoe rack and (DORA printed BAG) 50 Php from Alabang Bangketa. Most of it, where bought while I am on my way home. (I looked for DORA's purple back pack but unfortunately SM doesn't sell one anymore, sayang hehe). I saw how expensive small costume/ dresses for kids were so I don't mind having put together this simple do for only 204.00 Php.
Aside from the bangs which she already have (he he). I needed to create a personalized Dora inspired bracelet so by Friday night I decided to grab my crafting tools and make one.
It was all about meeting new people, playing around with other kids in cute costumes, experiencing new things, seeing your kids enjoying her time collecting candies, having a moment at the photo booth, eating hot dog and pop corn, watching magician's tricks, spending quality time together and just remembering how grateful we should be for the gift of life.
