Stairs going to the entrance of the Spa |
Around five to eight minutes walk from our office, I have reached Hagod Spa location at the basement area of The Colonnade Residences. Situated at the other end (left corner) of Carlos Palanca street (if you are coming along Dela Rosa Makati). I've seen their signage and went downstairs to finally have my much needed massage. Stress has been eating up my energy this past few months, I feel exhausted most of the time and to put an end to it I made sure to finally visit Hagod Spa last week for some pampering.
The Moment of Truth :) |
Receiving Area :) |
Paintings hanging on the wall. |
For a moment (while they are confirming my appointment schedule) I had a chance to observe and feel the coziness of the place. The ambiance is what I have expected of a good Spa, but the combination of woods and bricks and lighting at the receiving area was truly inviting. After which, Mavel called my attention and introduces me to Ate Grace, my masseuse for the day.
Massage Area |
A pass through sliding door near the cashier led me to another room were massage beds are settled separated with thick drapes making another small individual rooms. Each bed has clean sheets, a towel, robe, pillow and storage baskets were provided. The smell, the sounds (choice of music) and the ambiance was soothing to the mind.
Storage Basket to keep your belongings |
After I changed my outfit (a floral printed shorts were provided) and kept my things into the basket, Ate Grace ask me if I am ready and my one hour massage session has started. I chose Swedish massage with oil as I am more familiar and comfortable with the method. Ate Grace was sensitive and courteous the whole time, she would often ask me if the strokes or pressures were comfortable for me. I had few questions in mind (about massage/ strokes of course) and she was kind enough to explain and answer my questions professionally. I know I had so many (harden) nodules around my neck area and Ate Grace knew exactly how to deal with it.
At the end of my session it was surprising that I didn't feel any dizziness at all, in fact I felt relieved and lighter, like all of the weight I am carrying on my back has been thrown away out of my body. After the massage they offered me a tea/ water, I chose warm water to drink to totally released the toxins out of my bloodstreams. The experience was such a stress reliever for me, the Swedish massage had been amazing. I had a great time meeting some of the staff and having a small talk with them. No wonder some popular personalities/ celebrities were kept on coming back on Hagod Spa.
The courteous staff of Hagod Spa :) On the left: Ate Grace a masseuse for ten years, Wow!!! :) I'll will look for her when I go back for another good massage. |
If you feel you are in need for a great and relaxing massage (like I did), don't hesitate on giving yourself some pampering and relaxation once in a while. I recommend you visit HAGOD Spa and Nailcare, they offer a range of massages and treatments for you as well as a manicure and pedicure service at an affordable price :) I suggest you call them and set an appointment first in case you have decided to try their service for a total hassle free experience (so you won't have to wait in case they are on queuing).
