OUR CANYON COVE GETAWAY

I've been thinking about the beach, waters and the sands for weeks now realizing I haven't even shared our Canyon Cove getaway yet. It is something that is worth sharing for and I can't believe I almost forget to blog about it. So without further adieu, here is the story of our first long drive (just the three of us) and beach escapade. The best part is, it was well an unplanned trip.

January was supposed to be a month for our barkada (college friends) outing. Our personal belongings were all packed for an overnight trip, but something came up it didn't push through. But since it's too late to cancel my leave and with the expecting daughter (the one who were super excited about the supposed trip) my husband suggested that we go on with our beach adventure (alone as a family) and just go find another resort. I tried calling other resorts around Batangas but it's either they were fully booked or only accepting a day tour guest. In the morning of Friday (the day of our trip) we tried calling Canyon Cove reservations office in Makati and ask for an available room for an overnight stay but to no avail, so we settled to push through on a day trip. We placed our bags in the car, hop in and drove to Nasugbu.

With the help of google maps, we reach Nasugbu town about (3) three hours via SLEX. We found Canyon Cove at the farthest end of Piloto Wawa, Nasugbu town proper. At the day tour gate we ask Manong Guard if it's possible there's still a room available for overnight stay (makulet kami eh, besides our packed things are good for two days... hahaha) so he requested us to go in the main lobby instead and ask the details at the reservation desk officer. Great suggestion Manong!

And HOLA! there was still an available room for us for an overnight stay (I wonder why Makati officer told us otherwise). I wasn't sure how to take the news actually, but i'd rather be thankful that we arrived at the resort safe and sound, and that they will be able to accommodate us for an overnight stay. Least of what I had expected and that was a great news.

We were able to booked for a superior room at the front desk on that same morning and paid 5,800.00 for the room (additional 2,000 as resort deposit which is refundable upon check out). We stayed in room 518 and I am all good with this set up and view. Our room got twin beds, large enough for the three of us. A lanai and veranda. Another good news, we were able to check in earlier than expected without additional charge! that's four hours earlier from the usual check in time. Hooray!...

She couldn't hide her excitement!

Since we arrived early in the morning, we settled our things in the room and familiarize ourselves with the amenities and facilities of the resort (gala - gala, laru- laro muna). Though the parking lot at the resort are almost full the beach and pool area wasn't crowded at all so it was another plus factor.

Play ground best for kids and parents hahaha

There's a Max Restaurant inside the resort and that's where we basically took our lunch, breakfast, snacks and dinner. They also have this ihawan restaurant,  but I think a 400 peso 1 kilo bangus is too pricey. I didn't know that Kainan sa Dalampasigan was just at the town proper, if I knew earlier, I would have asked my husband to drive us there, well since this was unplanned we stayed at the resort the whole time. (We will try it next time)

Sorry no food photo (anyways, the menu was the usual Max's dishes) coz we're
simply hungry we don't have time to take photos of it. hahaha

We end up going on and off the pool and the beach, swimming, taking selfies (yes selfies included haha, above and under waters) taking pictures of the scenery, having fun at the sands, finding corals and NEMO (we found a school of fishes nearby, on a 5 ft deep ocean waters) and making the most in kayaking until sunset. Here are some of our activity photos that day.

I am too slow to take pictures of them, I only catch one.

Corals, do not step on it, nor destroy it.

Time check it's almost 4 in the afternoon, but we're still having
fun relaxing on the pool as well.

We spent most of our time in the waters as were really having fun. The sun, the wind and waters are all warm keeping us relaxed the whole time.

Mid afternoon shots of the blue skies. Summer...ry shot
But one of my best memorable moments on the whole trip was during sunset. It was a moment I made so many realizations. I felt a connection with the nature and repeatedly telling myself how great God creations are and just be grateful for..... for the gift of family.

Another summer...ry shot I took

On Saturday morning, we took time to roam around the whole stretch of the beach and waited for the sunrise. We then spent the rest of our day swimming until lunch time. Our check out time was at 12 Noon, we packed our things, settled our responsibilities at the front desk, loaded our things in the car and stayed a couple of hours more at the resort since our little girl wanted to play more.  Yup, you read it right, you can stay longer at the resort if you wish to... one to "sawa" like what we did.

My compulsory jump shot :)
It was two in the afternoon when we decided to go home already since we didn't want to catch up the horrendous traffic in Tagaytay-Silang road. But all in all it was the best long drive and unplanned beach experience we had for the first quarter of  this year. We had a great time and  family bonding moment at CANYON COVE and it was something that we are thankful for....

Now... on to our next trip.... hooooo.... Should I plan for it or leave it unplanned? hehehe
