THE ASSEMBLY OF YELLOW HEARTS (A REUNION WITH A CAUSE)

Okay, so this blog entry is supposed to be telling you the climax of my 2016 but I honestly don't know where to begin (geesssshhh). So I guess, I need to make a different entry on how we were able to come up with a homecoming event. As it did consume a lot of time, works, and brainstorming that are totally worth sharing and noteworthy. This post is mostly about my perspective on our recently concluded Vicennial Reunion at CVES Campus last December 3, 2016.

It's not every day that I got to meet old friends, nor see familiar faces from the past. So when this kind of invitation came in, much with a greater cause, I definitely said YES. It's been more than a month but I still get a little emotional reminiscing. I guess, like me, those that had been closely involved and everyone else who were able to join us at the party can attest that the event somehow touches their whole being and that the memories of our Vicennial Reunion were indelible.

I am not saying this because I am a part of the committee per se. In all honesty it was never about the position or whatever but of a significant reason of just being there, being involved. The opportunity to spend a few hours of my day with my fellow alumni and teachers who brought a huge impact in my life. The feeling was incomparable. It feels good to look back from your humble beginnings as it brings one to discern his/her life for the past twenty years. As for me, I feel nothing but be grateful and proud that I am a product of CVES - my second home during my yester years. Nagtapos ako sa Mababang Paaralan Pang Elementarya ng Chrysanthemum Village and that I'll always be proud of.

So many emotions, mix feelings when I step on the grounds of CVES this time with the group. Yung feeling na bigla kang nagteleport, nagbalik lahat ng ala-ala eh. It's nice to see familiar faces, my classmates, batch mates, barkada, mga kababata, our teachers whom made you feel as if nothing has ever changed. There is no such thing as OP (out of place - feeling) that's how I see it during that time. Let me know kung meron man, kahit pm nalang po (lol). But seriously all of them naman were all smiles so I guess yung talaga yung nakakagalak sa puso.

Aside from it, I believe without being biased our homecoming event was totally a 360 Degree flip from the negative notion of people towards "REUNION". I think you are all aware of the "pataasan ng ihi" or payabangan in layman's term but I am happy that ours were different (walang ganun) because you can feel the sincerity of those people involved. Yung kahit medyo may delay eh mabilis lahat kumilos at nakapag set up, that made you think they are more than happy to serve and help out.

It was such a nice feeling to gather around people with one goal in mind and that is to help complete the project, be merry and reminisce the old times in a good slash meaningful way.

 Mother Theresa once said:

“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

- and it was all evident during the planning period up to the actual day of the event. It was unparalleled.

I couldn't be more thankful and grateful for everyone who made the event possible and a success. I couldn't be happier than being a part of the assembly of YELLOW HEARTS, I guess that sums it all and from here I end my case...

Am I starting to miss them again? hmmm... :)
